Beer Camp at Navy Pier 🍺

This last Saturday, I attended the Beer Camp On Tour craft beer festival and it was quite literally a blast in a glass! The festival was held in the ballroom at Navy Pier and hundreds of beer drinkers gathered for a good time of socializing, great local food vendors, and of course... DA BEERS 🍻

It was a sunny 90° afternoon so I was personally thrilled that the event was inside and air conditioned. However food vendors and some beer booths were out on the pier so we were able to go out, enjoy the breeze and pretty lake views.

Most importantly, I sampled a ton of yummy beers from all over the country and had an excellent afternoon with my friends! I was with my roommate, her boyfriend and his friend. My roomie's boyfriend is quite the beer connoisseur so he took the lead and kinda guided us through the whole experience.

My favorite thing about the fest (besides the beers) was the general atmosphere. Everyone was there with the same goal: sample beers and have a good time doing it. There was no fuss, everyone was super friendly and social—oh, and did I mention the drinks were UNLIMITED?! That was totally awesome.

We found a guy inside the festival ballroom who looked like the spitting image of Conan O'Brien. So naturally, I take a photo with him LOL

My friends and I had a wonderful time and were staggering out by the time it was over, total rookie move. We learned that a common practice at these events is to wear a "pretzel necklace"—a stack of pretzels looped through a string around your neck—to munch on throughout to help maintain some sobriety. I'll definitely be wearing one next time! But overall, it was an afternoon very well spent and I can't wait to go back next year.
