Black friday haul
Black Friday is embarrassingly one of my favorite “holidays”. I am an absolute sucker for consumerism and the deals get me every time. This year’s overall theme for me was makeup and skincare (pretends to be shocked). I did all my shopping online this year because covid, of course! I was also able to take advantage of afterpay for two of my orders so that was an added treat. Afterpay allows me to pay in 4 interest free installments over 4 months, it’s really great and simple once you create an account. I was able to get my online shopping fix without breaking the bank! Below is a roundup of this year’s goodies.
Sephora
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream - $15 (Orig. $42). One of my absolute favorite face moisturizers, especially for colder months. It’s rich without feeling too heavy. It absorbs quickly and has a very soft texture as well. 8 oz for $15 is a STEAL!
Marc Jacobs Blacquer Cherry 2-Piece Set - $14 (Orig. $20). Marc Jacobs makes the best pencil eyeliner I’ve ever used! It’s perfectly soft and well pigmented. It goes on smoothly and is easy to smudge out. I have minis in brown and blue but I’ve been wanting a black one for a year since my last one ran out. When the new mascara came out last year (or was it earlier this year? Idk this year is everlasting) the reviews were very positive and I’ve been wanting to try it ever since. I couldn’t get myself past the $30 price tag so I never bought it, so I was very excited to find both in mini form for only $14. I’m very into buying minis bc it takes me forever to finish a product. It’s shocking since I’m so obsessed with beauty, but I really don’t wear makeup often and I get so excited about new products that I like being able to run out of things so that I can continue to try more.
KVD Vegan Beauty Liquid Eyeliner - 100 Points (Orig. $21). KVD is the best liquid eyeliner out there! I’ve gone through a few before and I try to convince myself that nyx and elf liners are just as good for way less money. But truthfully, no eyeliner is easier for me to get perfect precise lines than KVD. I was so excited to see it available as one of the beauty rewards. (Sephora reward bazaar is unmatched, ulta could never!) this is one product I actually would have full size but this was essentially free so it at least buys me some time!
Glossier
Skywash in Pool $13.50 (orig. $18). When these liquid eyeshadows first came out, I bought two of them: Terra and Pebble. I use Terra (a burnt orange, terracotta shade) allllll the time. My last trip to Florida, it was the only shadow I brought and I wore it every day. It’s perfect for quick on the go no fuss eye looks. It compliments my skin well too. Pebble was absolute trash tbh. The color doesn’t show up at all. I even tried it on my white friend and it was invisible. I genuinely don’t know who it’s made foe lol. Pool is a dreamy pale blue color that I’m currently obsessed with so I had to have it while all of glossier.com is 25% off.
Nightstand Duo - $16.50 (orig. $30). This set includes two tried and true products: the hand cream and balm dot com. This was a simple choice for me because I just ran out of the hand cream I bought this spring and I wanted to try the new Wild Fig balm dot com.
Nécessaire
The Body Wash $25 (orig. $25). There wasn’t a price markdown on this product but I’m running low on my current one and this was a good time to re-up because of other specials they have going right now plus the free serum (more about that below). I bought the fragrance-free one this time, my current bottle is the eucalyptus scent which is a bit too perfume-y to feel comfortable using long term. I do love the luxury fee of this brand and the current body wash.
The Hand Cream Duo - $30 (limited edition). It seems insane to buy two different hand creams during one weekend but I’ve wanted to try this one for a long time. The glossier hand cream is vented like the perfume so I thought this would be a good fragrance free option for times when I don’t want a scented hand cream. Also, I have several purses so this way I don’t have to keep switching. The packaging on this is gorgeous and I’ve heard good things about the quality too. I believe these retail for $20 on their own so there was a discount in this bundle. I plan to keep one and gift the other!
The Body Serum - FREE! (orig. $45). What got me to participate in this sale was that all orders on their website come with a free full-size body serum!! This product is a hyaluronic acid serum for your whole body. I swear by HA for my face so I’m very excited to have it on my whole body during the upcoming cold months. I also was excited/surprised to see them offering their most expensive product for free. I’ve used plenty of lotions, creams, and oils on my body but never a true “serum” so I’m curious to see how I’ll like it. I wonder if it will feel hydrating enough in its own or if I will later it under moisturizer like I do with face serums.
