DIY Body Scrub
Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! This year I wanted to do something cute for my best girlfriends, so I gifted them all these adorable little homemade body scrubs. I am not typically one to DIY, and I’d be totally lost in a craft store, but I still find homemade gifts to be so special and filled with love.
During the bitter cold month of February, exfoliating and moisturizing are crucial. So I figured why not hook my girls up with both in one? In the spirit of the holiday, they of course needed to be pink so I decided to go with Pink Lemonade Scrubs. These scrubs are super easy to make and use ingredients that you can find anywhere!
The ingredient breakdown for my Pink Lemonade Body Scrub goes as follows:
Coconut Oil
Sugar
Coarse Himilayan Salt
Honey
Lemon Juice
Pink Lemonade Powder
I started the process by placing several scoops of coconut oil into a large bowl. Followed by just a dollop of honey, one squirt of lemon juice, and enough salt and sugar to create the desired gritty texture. Then I added in enough packets of the powdered lemonade to achieve noticeable scent and color. Notice I use zero measurements and they turned out great. That’s how simple these are to make!
I did test out the scrubs on my own body before gifting them, and I loved how velvety smooth my skin felt after I got out the shower. I couldn’t stop rubbing my own legs and it did an amazing job buffing away dead skin. The scent is very, very mild and really just smells like coconut oil.
Packaging is up to you, I went with 4oz mason jars tied with pink ribbon. They made cute table decorations during my over-the-top Galentine’s Dinner (pictured above) and my friends were all delightfully surprised to receive their little gifts!
