Roses are Red, Frosé is Pink

Like every other girl my age, I enjoy rosé in the summertime. I'm typically a strictly red wine girl but something about a hot summer day sends me reaching for a chilled glass of rosé instead.

This summer I have discovered that my preferred form of rosé is blended over ice, aka FROSÉ! It's basically a combo of my two summer loves: slurpees and alcohol. I had my first taste of frosé at Apogee in Chicago and it was as delicious as it was adorable.

With last weekend being the air and water show, I decided to attempt making my own frosé! I followed a recipe I found online and customized it a bit. It was crisp, refreshing, and perfect for spending an afternoon on a sunny rooftop. Although it wasn't as perfect as the one from Apogee, it was delicious and SIMPLE!

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 cups rosé (I used White Girl)

  • 1 cup lemonade

  • 1 splash of sparkling water

  • A whole bunch of ice

  • Strawberries and mint to garnish

RECIPE

  1. Pour rosé, lemonade, and seltzer into blender

  2. Add a few strawberries (optional)

  3. Fill remainder of blender with ice

  4. Garnish with mint leaves

The recipe may vary depending on how large of a blender you have but you really can adjust portions to fit your taste. The key is makingnsure you use enough ice if you want the smooth texture. My first batch turned out way too liquid, basically juice with crushed ice in it. So next time around I made sure to go heavy on the ice and it was much better. I also thought adding strawberries to the mix gave it a nice texture and fruity goodness.

I hope you all enjoy this as much as I did!
