Spring Beauty Buys

IMG_8949.JPEG

With the Sephora VIB Sale wrapping up this week, it’s a good time to share some of my best beauty grabs from the past month! (And a couple wish list items, too!)

Anastasia Beverly Hills Soft Glam

So I thought I was good on eyeshadow palettes after getting Tartlette Toasted this fall, but the Soft Glam palette was an absolute need! It’s got some warm orangey tones like my Tarte palette, but this one has more soft, warm nudes, pretty berry hues, a soft black shade, and a rose gold shade that I’m obsessed with! These shadows are so soft and blendable.

Milk Makeup Watermelon Serum Stick

As a fan of their cooling water stick, I had high expectations for this serum. This serum is brightening and hydrating, two things that I value very much, so I was very excited to try! I keep this stick on my bedside table and swipe it on every night and wake up feeling plump and refreshed. The stick applicator is a great way to ensure no product is wasted and is perfect for using in bed.

Laura Mercier Radiance Primer

Foundation is still a relatively new part of my makeup routine, mainly because it grosses me out (weird, I know) and I’m terrified of looking cake-y. But it does serve an excellent base for bronzer, blush, and highlight so I caved and bought some. Even the tiny, sheer amount I wear can make my skin look kinda dull and flat without the right primer. What I love about this primer, is its dewy finish that provides a very natural looking glow without too much shimmer. It’s an excellent hydrating base! I actually don't mind how it looks without foundation bc it doesn’t have a white cast like many other primers do. I wouldn’t recommend this primer to those with oily skin, but if you’re like me and could use a little hydration boost, this is perfect. I use it as a base before foundation and I also mix it with my foundation to sheer out the formula.

Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream

No fuss, no frills. This is a good moisturizer. It actually keeps me feeling hydrated all day during the winter (which has been never-ending in Chicago). It’s a daily staple with a non-offensive price tag.

Becca Dreamsicle Shimmering Skin Perfector

I love orange-tinted cheeks in the summertime. So when (if!) the season actually comes, I look forward to using this as my 2-in-1 blush/highlight to warm up my face and turn up the glow.

Summer Fridays Jet Lag Mask

I haven’t bought this mask as it’s constantly sold out. I’ve known that Marianna Hewitt was launching her skincare line for a while but I’m not excited enough about it to be one of its early adopters. I am intrigued with how it manages to sell out every time so I’m sure I’ll try it eventually. Perhaps on a long flight.

Fenty Beauty Body Lava

I sampled this on my shoulders and décolletage while on vacation and I loved how I shimmered in the sun and on the beach. A little goes a long way with this product and it is beautiful! However, the effect is so similar to Herbivore’s Rose Quartz Body Oil that I already have. So maybe once that runs out, I’ll replace it with this.

Tom Ford Fucking Fabulous

This is the ultimate wish-list item. The potential shelfie is the main appeal for me, but that’s not a strong enough reason for me to shell out the big bucks that this fragrance costs. I did sample it in-store and I liked the fragrance. But if I’m buying any Tom Ford fragrance, Oud Wood is still my top choice.
